Calamus tincture is an effective tonic for the gastro-intestinal tract, and used for dyspepsia, gastritis and gastric ulcers. Acorus Calamus, also known as Sweet Flag, is also used as a calming medicine (sedative), to induce sweating, and to treat rheumatoid arthritis and is a stimulant herb that relaxes spasms and is regarded as a restorative for the brain and nervous system, especially after a stroke.
It is a valuable home remedy for children suffering from whooping cough - being antispasmodic, it prevents the severe bouts of coughing. It has tonic powers to stimulate and normalize the appetite. In small doses it reduces stomach acidity whilst larger doses increase stomach secretions - recommended in the treatment of anorexia nervosa.
Ingredients: Ethanolic extract of Acorus Calamus
Dosage: Adults & Children over 12yrs: Take 20-40 drops, Children under 12 yrs: Take 10-15 drops, Infants: Take 2-5 drops. To be taken 3 times a day.
